What is the Difference Between the etrailer hitches e55ZR and e35ZR for My 2022 Subaru Ascent?

There are some differences to consider between the etrailer hitches # e55ZR and # e35ZR. While both of these hitches have a maximum gross towing weight capacity of 5,000 pounds, they have different maximum tongue weight capacities. The # e55ZR has a 750-pound tongue weight capacity and the # e35ZR has a 675-pound tongue weight capacity.
Another difference is the installation difficulty. For the # e55ZR, the installation takes longer because the hitch replaces the impact bar of the bumper while the # e35ZR does not. Since the # e55ZR takes the place of the impact bar, it does have a better fitment, but it does add about an hour of installation time to the process.
With all these considerations, I recommend the # e35ZR because of the ease of installation. If you need a ball mount/ball for your hitch, I recommend the # 989900. For tail light, turn signals, and running light functions on a light trailer, I recommend the T-One Harness # 118790.
