Fixed or Sliding B&W Companion for 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed with Puck System

Can I use a fixed B&W Companion for the puck system on my '22 Sierra 2500? I'm seeing mixed answers online.

Great question! There definitely are some mixed thoughts and reviews on this subject so I'll do my best to explain everything. Ultimately it will be your decision as to which option you use for your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed puck system, but the options that will fit your truck include the B&W Companion Slider # BWRVK3775, the 20K Fixed Companion # BWRVK3710, and the 25K Fixed Companion # BWRVK3715.
When it comes to trucks with beds under 8' long we like to recommend using a sliding 5th wheel hitch because the determining factor for whether you can make tight turns or not with a fixed hitch boils down to the design of your 5th wheel trailer. If your 5th wheel trailer has a pointed nose so that the front is narrow then we have heard of people being able to make complete 90 degree turns. We like to go the safe route because there is that off chance that the 5th wheel might be just slightly too wide so you can't make the turns that you're needing to so I recommend sticking with the slider because worst case scenario is that you have enough room without the sliding function so you just don't use that function.
Another thing to note is that if you go with the fixed hitch then this limits your future 5th wheel trailer options to ones that HAVE to have that narrow nose.
