Does Installation of the etrailer Trailer Hitch on 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon Require Bumper Removal

I am looking at adding the etrailer hitch to my 2022 Subaru Outback and I noticed it didn't have an installation video. I was wondering if the bumper has to be removed when you install it? Thank you for your time.

When you install the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR on your 2022 Subaru Outback you will need to remove the bumper. The hitch installs behind the rear bumper beam as shown in the picture below.

This custom-fit Class III hitch has a 2" receiver has a concealed cross tube to help maintain a factory look. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 350 lbs for towing or carrying accessories like the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR.

If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 as well. This plugs into existing wiring to provide you with a 4-way connection to power your trailer's signal lights.

For a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball along with a ball mount bag to store everything in.
