Parts Needed to Install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite in a 2022 Toyota Highlander
Question:
I have a 2022 Toyota Highlander with tow package, is there a custom wiring harness available for connecting the RED44FR brake controller to the vehicle wiring harness?

Expert Reply:
You can install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR in your 2022 Toyota Highlander with tow package, but there is not an adapter to plug the controller into your vehicle. You will need to use the included wiring pigtail to make all of the required connections:
-White wire to ground
-Blue wire to trailer brake wire on 7-way connector
-Red wire to cold side of stop light switch (wire that only has power when brakes are applied). You can find the cold side of the stop light switch by using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993.
-Black wire to positive terminal of vehicle battery with 30 amp circuit breaker # 331-CBK30-EB (If using # ETBC7 circuit breaker is included)
If you do not already have a 7-way connector you will need to use the # ETBC7 to install a 7-way to use your trailers brakes.
