Does 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Require Harness for Addressing Steering Wobble

Question:

We have a just-purchased 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk we intend to tow and have fitted it with the Blue Ox baseplate and the Patriot and taillight wiring harnesses. Do we need to install the Mopar Mopar 68321424AB harness to prevent the wobble under tow problem that weve been hearing about? Thanks,

So in recent years Jeep did address the steering wobble issue and stopped requiring additional harnesses but for a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk you would still need their harness kit part # 82216418AA since it wasn't fixed by that point.

Once that's installed you'd be set to use the Blue Ox base plate that fits your vehicle part # BX1128 with a Blue Ox tow bar like the part # BX7420.

For lighting you can use the diode kit, # RM-15267, and not have to worry about cutting into the taillight housing. This will splice into your taillight wiring to allow your tow vehicle to control the taillight assemblies of the towed vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking that you mentioned. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
