Compatible Base Plate For A 2022 GMC Canyon Denali With Forward Collision Alert Sensors
Question:
I have a 2022 GMC Canyon Denali 4WD with a crash avoidance option. Not adaptive cruise control. What tow baseplate would work on this model truck?

The Forward Collision Alert Sensor is mounted to the windshield of your 2022 GMC Canyon Denali so it will not be interfered with like the Adaptive Cruise Control sensors would when installing a base plate. For your base plate I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM37VR. This direct-connect base plate has virtually invisible brackets that make it easy to mount and remove your tow bar and eliminates the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar on your tow bar.
If you haven't already purchased a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables then I have the following recommendations for you:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. This tow bar features a non-binding design and large hookup radius to make connecting and disconnecting from your vehicle on any terrain a breeze.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit allows you to use your GMC Canyon's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. This kit comes with everything you need, including the 6-wire to 7-wire adapter cable.
Since the battery needs to be disconnected you can install the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 to make disconnecting and reconnecting the battery as simple as flipping a switch instead of having to get under the hood and physically removing the negative battery cable.
Note: This disconnect switch is not compatible with diesel vehicles or vehicles with dual batteries.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This braking system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote all from your motorhome.
Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You will most likely also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level while flat towing your Canyon. This will require you to do some measuring so I've attached our help guide article that will walk you through the steps of determining the correct rise or drop needed.
