Max Wheelbase of Curt Hitch Mount Platform Rack
Question:
I need a rack to fit a 29inch tire bike. Will this item, and others you offer fit for the tire size? Also, what is the extended length in inches from end to end of the tire holders? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 29" tires on your bike are a standard size so they will be compatible with the Curt 2-Bike Platform Rack # C18085 along with pretty much any other rack that we carry. This rack is compatible with a max wheelbase of 68" so if your bike measures 68" or less from the center of one axle to the center of the other axle you'll be good to go. The reason why bike rack manufacturers go with wheelbase as opposed to measuring the outside of the cradles is because the bike tires will be sitting in the middle of the cradles.
