Will the Yakima RocketBox Pro # Y07192 Fit My 2020 Mazda CX-5?

Question:

I'm still researching the cargo box for our 2020 Mazda CX5. You also have the Thule Pulse M Roof Cargo Box, also has 14 cubic ft capacity, this one open from the passenger side and the dimensions is 67X35X16, it's somewhat shorter than Yakima RocketBox Pro by 8". Can you explain how both provide 14 cubic ft capacity and the advantage or benefit of one over the other, if any.

On your 2020 Mazda CX-5, you have enough crossbar spread for the required 24-32 inches of the Yakima RocketBox Pro # Y07192. Also, according to your attached photo, you have the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars like the # TH711400 installed. With these crossbars, the RocketBox will be able to attach to your crossbars. In addition, since you have a measurement of 54 inches from the center of your front crossbar to the line where the roof and hatch meet, you have enough space to fully open your rear hatch. As far as interference with your antenna, you won't have any issues with fitment.

From your attached photo, it looks like you do not have lock cores installed in your Evo Clamp Feet # TH710501. I recommend the Thule Same-Key Lock Cores # TH450400 to deter the theft of your investment.

Certainly! The reason why the Thule Pulse M # TH614 provides the same 14 feet of cubic storage space as the Yakima RocketBox 14 # Y07192 is because of the inner dimensions of the boxes. The Pulse has internal dimensions of of 63" long x 33" wide x 14" tall the RocketBox is 64" long x 23-1/2" wide x 14-1/2" high. Even though the Pulse is a bit shorter, it has a 9-1/2" advantage on the width. With all this being said, if you have wide objects and the dual-opening lid of the RocketBox is not important to you, I recommend going with the Thule Pulse M # TH614. You will be able to fully open your trunk with the Pulse M installed.
