Which Replacement Hitch Pin Will Fit My Yakima Holdup 2 Bike Rack

Question:

I have a 2inch hitch and would like to replace the yakima hitch pin which is anti-rattle/threaded with a new locking hitch pin. Can I do that and which ones do you recommend?

To replace the threaded hitch pin and lock for your Yakima HoldUp, it will depend on if you have the 2" shank or if you have the 1-1/4" shank with a 2" adapter.

For the 2" shank, you will need the Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip for Yakima HoldUp # Y8890200. If you have the 1-1/4" shank with the 2" adapter, you will need the Replacement Hitch Bolt and Clip for Yakima HoldUp # Y8880129. These are not cross compatible with each other so I do recommend double checking to make sure before purchasing.

Once you have this, you will need the Replacement Body for Yakima HitchLock 2007 and Newer # 8820048. This will not come with keys or a lock core pre-installed so you can match any Yakima locks you may already have.

The number will be on the lock core, so you will need to use the Control Key for Yakima Same Key System # Y8007835 to remove one if you are unsure of the number. If you take a look at the SKS Lock Core for Yakima Racks and Carriers - A135 # Y8771-A135, you can see where this number will be engraved.

However, if you do not have any existing Yakima lock cores, the Yakima HitchLock for Yakima Hitch Mounted Bike Racks # Y07235 will come with keys and a lock core pre-installed and ready to go.
