Is There a Replacement Hub For A 1980 Apache Pop-Up Camper With Fayette Hubs

Question:

I just bought the frame/axle/wheels from a 1980 Apache pop-up camper, i.e. someone had stripped off the pop-up camper part and all that was left is is the frame with the axle and wheels. I am replacing the wheels with the etrailer AM3H350 tire/wheels. Can you help me find the correct hubs? I want to replace the existing Fayette 01-9234 brake drums with just a simple hub no brakes. I dont need brakes on the trailer, so I just want to replace the brake drums with a simple hub. I would use the existing brake drums to mount the new tires, but the drivers side drum has left hand threaded 1/2-13 lug bolts, and I cant find these reverse thread replacement lug bolts anywhere. Does etrailer carry these? I need 1/2-13 x 7/8inch left hand thread lug bolts not nuts. I would buy these if theyre available and just use the existing drum hub to mount the tires to. If etrailer does not have these lug bolts, then can you help me pick out a hub to replace the brake drum hubs with? See the attached photo with the spindle dimension detail. Please let me know which hub you recommend to go with the above tire. FYI, this trailer will get minimal use throughout the year and just used locally, i.e. drive 2 hours tops for one day canoe trips. Thank you for any help.

I will have another option available, but with the widths you got, you have an inner bearing # L44643 and an outer bearing # LM11949. The length of your spindle is also going to mean you have one that is shorter than standard and we will not have a replacement available. With that being said, I recommend replacing the axle with something that uses a more common length and bearing combination.

Though it will require measuring from the center of one spring seat to the center of the other and from hub face to hub face, this will be the only option we will have. As an example, Dexter Trailer Idler Axle Beam with EZ-Lube Spindles # T20BTR-EZ-7258 will measure 72 inches from hub face to hub face and 58 inches from the center. This is also rated up to 2,200 pounds and the etrailer.com Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 10" to 12"- 5 on 4-1/2 - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-545-2-EZ-2K will fit this very nicely. The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range B # AM3H350 will also fit this hub without issues.

The left hand thread lugs are also getting extremely difficult to find these days and we no longer carry them, unfortunately.
