Can The Westlake WST54FR Be Run At A Lower PSI

Question:

I have a torflex axle that works great of road but is too bouncy on the highway. It only weighs 1900 to 2000lbs loaded. Can I safely reduce the psi in these tires to soften the highway potholes? Im currently running just standard trailer tires, will these have less highway bounce in general?

Running the Westlake ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Trailer Tire - Load Range D # WST54FR at a lower psi than it is rated to can soften the ride a little. However, doing so can and will also cause the tire to wear unevenly, so it is not recommended.

Comparing these to your current tires will depend on said tires. The # WST54FR will be a Load Range E, or 2,910 pounds at 65 psi, so they are pretty heavy duty. Radial tires are designed for more comfortable highway use than a bias ply tire, so if your current tires bias, these will definitely be nicer.
