First you will need a Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 if you do not already have a 4-way flat connection on your 2022 Subaru Outback. This connects to the factory connector in your rear cargo area for a simple installation and will take care of the brake lights, turn signals, and running lights portion of the 7-way connection.

To determine which of our 7-way kits you need this will depend on if you will want a brake controller mounted inside your Outback near the drivers controls.

For a brake controller like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 you will want the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7. This will provide you with the correct wiring and circuit breakers needed to install a 7-way and brake controller in your Outback. It plugs into the 4-way flat connector and provides the wiring for 12 volt charge line and the trailer brake wire.

If you do not need the brake controller or plan to use a Wireless controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 then you will want our 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This kit has less parts since you will not be using an interior mounted brake controller. It plugs into your 4-way and adds circuits for the 12 volt charge line that will charge your trailer batteries as well as power the Curt Echo if used.

If you are also needing a receiver the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT73RR is our easiest to install and has the highest weight rating. It attaches to the bottom of the frame using factory holes and is rated for 675lbs of tongue weight and 4,500lbs trailer towing. Be sure to verify your maximum capacities with your Subaru dealer.
