Since you have the 6-3/4' bed you will need a hitch that slides. I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3775. This hitch is made in the USA and has a quick, simple installation. It drops into the 4 receiver pucks that are built into your factory underbed rails.
The built-in slider provides the clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds and rail-free design allows for full access to your truck bed when the hitch is removed. The 1" thick dual jaws provide 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact which provides less rattle and more security than slide-bar jaws.
To make hooking up your 5th wheel wiring easier, I recommend the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # HM54FR. This will allow you to move the 7-way wiring connector up into your trucks bed for easier hook up, while maintaining use of the 7-way at your bumper.
