Bracket in The Way Installing Curt Hitch For 2020 Chevy Bolt

Question:

Hi, I have a 2020 Chevy Bolt and the rack fits yet the 4th connection bolt the one with the electrical wire connection, doesnt have enough exposed threads for the nut to screw in - the width of the hitch receiver . Has this been reported before? Any thoughts on how to attach the nut on that bolt? See attached pictures. There is a metal bar not the one that holds the electrical wires that prevents the rack from sitting flush against the surface and not able to screw in the hitch. You can see the connection bolt, but the threads dont actually start at the end of the bolt, so cant get any traction. Thoughts?

Thank you for the photos, and I do see that metal piece there interfering with the Curt Hitch # C11457 on your 2020 Chevy Bolt EV. I can tell you that we have not seen this before, and I called Curt who also said it's something they have not had any customers reach out to them about it and have never come across this issue.

That is a bracket for a harness which looks to be sticking out more than it should, possibly causing interference. Curt told me the best thing to try and do was use pliers and try to bend that bracket back a bit, which should allow for enough room for the nut to catch the threads of the bolt.
