We can definitely get you the parts needed to swap over to electric brakes, but the 2,500 pound hydraulic brakes will end up being a different size than their electric counterparts.

With that being said, the etrailer.com Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 7" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-2 will technically only be rated to 2,000 pounds, but the 4 bolt pattern on the backing plate will bolt directly to your axle. From what I could find, your 1998 Jayco Eagle 12 UDK came from the manufacturer weighing just under 1,700 pounds, so these should be perfectly fine for you. However, with these brakes being a different width than your current hydraulic ones, you will need to replace the hubs/drums as well.

The correct option for this will depend on your bearing numbers and wheel bolt pattern, though. The first 2 options will have a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern, but will use different bearing numbers. The etrailer.com Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-2-EZ-1K will use # L44643 inner and outer bearings and the # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K will use # L44649 inner and outer bearings. If you have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, we have the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 8-173-16UC3-EZ, but these are only available with # L44649 bearings.

To get the brakes wired up, you will need some wiring, like the Deka Jacketed 2 Wire, 10 Gauge, Brake Wire - per Foot # 10-2-1, but you will need to measure to determine how much will be needed. The Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 20099 is highly recommended if there is no break away system already installed. The Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit w/ Junction Box and RV Style Connector # HS381-9000 will make all this wiring significantly easier to get installed as well.

I included some videos and help articles that will help with identifying your bolt pattern and everything that will be needed to convert over to electric brakes.

The final thing you will need is a brake controller to get the brakes working while towing. There are lot of different options and styles for this so if you let me know the year, make, and model of your vehicle and how often you will be towing, I can definitely get you a good recommendation.
