Recommended B&W Fifth Wheel Hitch For A 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 6-3/4' Bed

Question:

I have a 2020 Silverado 2500 short bed and am looking at purchasing a BandW 3710 fixed fifth wheel hitch to pull my 2013 282rkx Wildcat Ultralite. I will be upgrading my Wildcat to a 2018 Montana High Country 253RL in a few months. Can I pull both trailers with my truck and the BandW fifth wheel without risk to the truck cab, bed, etc?

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch 20,000lbs # BWRVK3710 was designed for the Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package so if you don't have the puck system in your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 then you'll need a different B&W hitch.

Since you have a short bed I recommend either a sliding hitch or rotating pin box. Rotating pin boxes are specific fits so I would need to know the pin boxes on your trailers to tell you the correct replacements and you would need to use a different hitch because the B&W Companion is not compatible with rotating pin boxes.

So if you have the puck system in your truck then I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3775.

If you don't have the puck system then I recommend the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W with the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1020-5W.

Using a slider will allow you to push the pivot point back to allow for more turning clearance and help prevent the nose of the 5th wheel trailers from hitting the cab of your truck. This is also the more cost effective option since you'll be replacing your trailer and won't want to replace both pin boxes with a rotating pin box to add turning clearance.
