Helper Spring Recommendation for 1996 GMC Sierra K2500 Carrying Truck Bed Camper

I have a 1996 GMC Sierra 2500 four-wheel-drive with a very heavy cab over camper I see these helpers call for 1 inch space between axle my question was if the weight of the camper pushes down all the way solid onto the axle how much Lyft would it give me on my pick up also if the springs are down tight to the axle will there still be enough flex to keep the axles from being pounded too hard I realize it might be a rough ride but if I’m in rough country I do not want to be breaking axles will these rubber springs still have enough flex in them. Is there any other air lifts that would work on this truck I have a gooseneck hitch on it Or should I use some kind of a lift block first and then either air or the rubber springs thanks John

When installed on an unloaded vehicle (no load in bed) there will be an approximately 1/2 to 1 inch gap between the Timbren Aeon spring and the axle tube. Once the bed is loaded with cargo or a slide-in camper, this gap will be taken up and the spring would be in direct contact with the axle tube.

The Timbren # TUR350 you looked at isn't the correct fit for your 1996 K2500, you'll want to use # TGMRCK25 instead. The springs won't provide any lift, but will definitely provide up to 6000 lbs of support. The springs will still provide the flex you're looking for once the rear suspension is under load that will be a night and day improvement over the stock jounce bumpers, and the additional support will greatly reduce the amount of sag you'd experience.

We don't offer an air helper spring option that's compatible with an in-bed hitch like the gooseneck you have in place, so the Timbren # TGMRCK25 is what I'd recommend.
