Best ST225/75R15 Load Range E Tires With 15 Inch Wheels & 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern
Question:
Hi, I’d like to upgrade my wheels and tires to the strongest available that will work with my Current setup: 2007 Keystone Raptor 3712TS 39’ toy hauler, 3 axles. 15” Rim with 6 on 5-1/2” bolt pattern Wheels I have are ST225/75R15 E load, M Speed. I only have 3-4” between each tire right now, so I don’t think I have the room to go with a taller tire. The existing rims are only rated for 2100lbs each and 65 PSI. What do you recommend for wheel rims and tires?

We can get you set up with new tires and wheels, and you are correct that you will need to stick with size ST225/75R15 tires, as you want at least 3 to 4 inches of space between the tires to account for the flexing that will happen when under load. Also, the rims on your current tires aren't rated highly enough for the GVWR of your '07 Raptor 3712TS, which according to my research has a 16,500 lb GVWR; you'll want tires and rims that, when combined, are rated to at least match and ideally exceed your GVWR.
The best option for a ST225/75R15 load range E trailer tire with a wheel that has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern is from Westlake, and there are a couple of different styles of wheel for you to choose from:
- Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Silver Mod Wheel # LHAW124
- Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Tire w/ 15" Liger Aluminum Wheel - Glossy Black # LH36FR
- Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR103
The Westlake are the best because of their deep 10/32" tread depth which is the most depth, ensuring the best grip, particularly in wetter conditions, as well as a longer lasting tire. They also have a 5-year warranty, and even free 24/7 roadside assistance for two years just in case you should ever get a flat, which is a huge benefit for travelers like yourself.
These tire and wheel combos have a 75 mph speed rating, with each having a maximum capacity of 2,830 lbs, which is exactly what you need for your trailer. They also come with the valve stem, so the only other thing you will need are the lug nuts.
