Will the 16" Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel with Offset Work On a Vehicle

Question:

Hi etrailer team I have been struggling trying to find tires for my 1959 Chevrolet Apache 3600 3/4 ton 8 lug one piece wheels. They currently have Yokahama 8R x 17.5 but they are no longer made. Coker sells a 8 x 17.5 STA BIAS tires, but they are backordered for the foreseeable future. I ran across your site and notice folks having success using this wheel on the 1947-1953 - 3600 8 Lug wheel . Do you know if these will fit my 1959 without hitting the tie rod that is a common complaint with this type wheel swap?

The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel part # AM20766 is designed for use on trailers. That said, it could be used on a vehicle so long as the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern, 16" diameter x 6" wide dimensions, and positive 0.5" offset work for your particular application. That said, I would not be able to provide exact fit information for any one particular vehicle.
