Wiring Kit for Powering Winch at Rear of Vehicle with 2 Gauge Wire
Question:
I have a 12k winch Im using to pull logs up on a trailer. I bought some #2 gauge welding cable with some quick connects on one end, cable clamps on the other end to power my winch. Running direct to the trucks battery. Wondered if this was a good idea or should I go about it differently?

You basically just created a winch wiring kit like the # BDW20207 which is 24 feet of 2 gauge wire just like what you have so what you did was a great route to go. Some might run it to the output pin of the alternator but it's basically all the same.
