No Power to Trailer Brake Controller Install on a 2006 Silverado 1500
Question:
When I plug the 3015-P into the correct port on the wiring block up by the brake pedal, I dont get any power. When I check the leads, the black one is cold. On the truck, the lead to the right of the black one is hot. That would be the middle right one. There is no power coming from the middle left one which is the one the black lead on the plug goes into. What to do? Wrong plug? Weird truck?

First, make sure that your # 3015-P harness is pinned out correctly. The red wire should be in the bottom left location (if looking at the back of the end that plugs into the truck). Directly next to the red wire should be the blue wire. Above the blue wire, in the middle right slot, should be the black 12 volt wire. And in the upper right should be the ground. I have incldued a picture that should help.
On a 2006 Chevy Silverado it is possible that you will need to make some connections under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to an FAQ article that covers these connections.
