Advent Air Conditioner Replacement for Carrier Air V

Question:

I read the advent air is recommended plug and play replacement for the Carrier Air V. Does it come with a remote. My remote has died fresh batteries but no power. I can turn on the AC by the emergency air button on the top panel. Compressor comes on but its not blowing very cold. Its on a 07 Holiday Rambler Savoy BHS 31 5th wheel that has a furnace.

RV air conditioner systems can be broke down in two sections. Section 1 - On the roof: This is the hardware, like the compressor and fans, that basically is on or off. Section 2 - below the roof: This is the air distribution box (or ducts) and the controls. The controls can be knobs on the air distribution box, a thermostat, or both functions accessed by a remote. These controls direct the roof top unit to turn on and off.

The Advent # ACCAR150 is noted as a replacement for Carrier as it matches the multi-wire connection plug that a Carrier system has.

If your air conditioner comes on but you do not have cold air then you probably have an issue up on the roof with the air conditioner unit. Since you would be replacing a Carrier unit, then the Advent unit would connect the easiest.

If your remote does not seem to work then you may need a remote replacement, or a replacement of the thermostat that receives the remote signal.

It seems like you have multiple issues and you would benefit from an entire new system You can use the Furrion # FR23PV system with 15,000 BTU's of cooling power, includes the roof top air conditioner and inside air distribution box, plus thermostat.

If you need something that works with ducted distribution systems, or has more or fewer BTU's (and amperage use) just email me again for a refined recommendation.
