Can Curt Trailer Hitch C11567 Be Used To Tow 589lb Trailer W/ 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE?
Question:
Is this trailer hitch safe to tow a 4x8 589 pound trailer without any problems. Is there any problem with the trailer swaying while driving. I’ve spoke to the trailer company and Toyota and they both say no problem but when I googled the question one reviewer said don’t do it that it’s not recommended so I wanted to ask your company as you sale it.

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11567 you were looking at for your 2020 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE has a 200lb tongue weight rating and a 2000lb trailer weight rating so in that regards the hitch will not have any problems with your 589lb trailer.
Since Toyota and the trailer manufacturer told you there would be no issue, and the hitch has the correct ratings for the trailer I cannot see any problems you would run into.
Regarding sway, that comes down to making sure you have a ball mount that allows the trailer to be level when it is being towed, and how the cargo on the trailer is loaded. Ideally you want 10-15% of the trailer weight to being tongue weight for the best towing experience. The included FAQ article does a great job on giving tips on how to load your trailer to avoid sway.
I included a link to a helpful article that goes over how to measure for the correct ball mount, and a link to all of our ball mounts that fit a Class I hitch for you as well.
In addition, you will need a vehicle wiring harness # C56309 to complete your towing setup.
I included installation videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
