Upgrading Stock Landing Gear on 2008 Forest River Wildcat 5th Wheel for Leveling

Question:

I have a 30 ft forest river wildcat 2008 fifth wheel with dial lifting set up and would like to change to the individual Reeves 8000 lbs set to assist me in leveling my unit. Would the 8000 lb. set up work for this 5 wheel and is each jack rated at 8000 or 8000 lbs for both.

The Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 has a combined lift capacity of 8,000 pounds for both jacks. This will be enough for your 2008 Forest River Wildcat 5th Wheel. You will be able to control each lifting leg individually to assist with leveling the front of your camper. You will want to verify that the weld stops on your jacks are from inside of top weld stop to inside of bottom weld stop 15-1/2", and between outside of weld stop to outside of weld stop 17-1/2".

I recommend the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System # LC358590 as this will allow you to also level the rear of your Wildcat. With either the control panel or wireless remote you will be able to control the individual jacks. There is also an auto level feature that will allow you to let the camper level itself. The jacks can also fully retract with the push of a button rather than having to hold each individual button. You can also set your hitch height to make hitching up to your truck much easier.
