For clarification, I don't believe that a factory integrated brake controller was available on Ford trucks until 2009. For that reason it won't be present on your 2002 Ford F-250.
Judging by the question you were referred from, this neighbor was referring to the factory plug that allows you to use a plug and play adapter to install your aftermarket brake controller like the # 3035-P instead of hard wiring. You will need to install a brake controller and, if you don't have one on the truck already, a 7 way connector on your 2002 F-250.
If you don't have a 7 way trailer connector on your F-250 you can use the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185, which will replace any existing trailer wiring. This is required for any trailer with brakes that you'd be towing, but still leaves a 4 way plug available if you need to tow a trailer without brakes.
The # 3035-P plug you were looking at is specific for Tekonsha controllers like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, which would be my recommendation for a controller. The P3 provides you with proportional braking for your trailer and has an easy to read LCD screen that allows you to easily change the settings on the controller, including the gain, so it's fully customizable to your trailer's needs.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out, as well.
