Will the J-Pin work for anti-rattle and lock the bike rack?
Question:
After reading several complaints about rattle and lack of lock, Id like to know if the J-pin I already bought from etrailer will fit through the hitch portion of this bike rack.

The anti rattle pin on the Curt 4 premium # C18087 is a threaded pin so a J-Pin stabilization device like you have will not fit the pitch of the thread in the shank. Honestly, you will get a decent amount of movement with any 4 bike platform rack. To carry the 4 bikes it takes a lot of space between your car and the farthest bike. I've used this rack before and know what you're talking about but the movement isn't enough to damage your hitch, the rack or your bikes if installed properly. A lot of the times people do not tighten the anti rattle bolt enough which results in more movement. I suggest wiggling the rack back and forth while tightening to make sure it's nice and tight. Movement is expected with any rack and the longer the rack the more movement you will see.
You can however add the Curt Stabilization Straps # 18050 and wrap them around the bike rack and the safety chain loops of your trailer hitch. This will help to give you a bit more stabilization and keep the rack from moving a bit.
