Regular trailer wiring harnesses will not work in reverse. they are designed to fail if that is done to protect the vehicle wiring from damage if there were a short circuit on the trailer. You will need a kit specifically designed for flat towing. You can use a diode kit such as # 154-792-118158.
You will also want to consult your vehicle owners manual on the proper procedure for towing the vehicle.
If you need base plates on your 2006 Accord use # 1545-1 if it is not a Hybrid. For a compatible tow bar and safety cables use # RM-522 and # RM-645.
Most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed and the easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
If your Accord is a Hybrid and has continuous power-assist brakes then you cannot use the Even Brake but you can use the Patriot # BLU37TR. I have included some helpful links on flat towing for you to view.
