Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2018 Lexus RX 350 W/ Best Ground Clearance
Question:
I want to add a trailer hitch to a 2018 Lexus Rx 350. You have Curt 13272 which semms to be able to handle my small utility trailer or bike rack. I am concerned about ground clearance dont want to bottom out on steep driveway. I am estimating, based on your videos, that it has about a 12 to 13 inch clearance from ground to base of rim of receiver??? Would you know how this compares to a Lexus dealer installed $1,400 hitch, which I do not care to spend that kind of money. Thanks

You are pretty much right on with the ground clearance.
When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13272 on a similar 2017 Lexus RX 350 we found that it measured 15-1/2" from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver. To the bottom of the receiver is about 2-1/4" so you are looking at just over 13" ground clearance with either option.
While we have not had an RX 350 in with a factory receiver to measure the ground clearance, based on the pictures I was able to find online it looks like it will be pretty close to the same as the other two options.
To complete your towing setup you will need a vehicle wiring harness # 118255.
