Using E-Track for Loading and Securing Pallets in a Van

Question:

We would like to mount these on the floor of our vans to allow for tie-downs and for a rub rail for protecting the floor when loading skids. Is this product heavy enough to support 2,000lbs skids being set on it and pushed forward into the van? We would put all four on the floor which is 55inch wide and our skids are typically standard 40x48 skids. If not, do you have any rub rails designed to be mounted on the floor for this purpose?

The etrailer Horizontal E-Track # e42VR would work great as an anchor point for your tie downs. I don't feel they would be the best for sliding the skids on though. The track has a lot of slots that the skid would become caught on when being pushed across.

I would place some decking boards possibly PVC on the floor next to the E-Track so that the skids will more easily slide in and out of your vans.

For securing the skids the Erickson E-Track Strap with Ratchet # EM59139 are convenient as you won't have to have special adapters to use standard ratchet straps. These are 16' long and rated at 3,500lbs for break strength.
