Weight Distribution Shank for EAZ System Used in 2020 Ram 2500 Hitch

Question:

I have a Eaz-lift trekker LDH that I had on my 2007 Ram 1500 to pull my 30’ travel trailer. The hitch came with 5/8” , 7” rise shank. The hitch was in the next to last hole from the bottom. Each hole is ~I” spacing. I now have a 2020 RAM 2500 Cummins. Will my current shank work ping it down 1 hole or will I need more ? I know it depends a lot on the trailer but thought I’d get some ideas before I start to tow it. The hitch on my trailer level is 21” off the ground and my ball on my truck with the trekker is at 25” with no load. The bottom of of my truck receiver is 21”off the ground. Pretty sure I’ll need to it at least 2” more. Any thoughts? Do you guys sell a shank I would need that would work? Thanks in advance.

The EAZ weight distribution systems are designed to fit the standard shank hole dimensions of 1-1/4 inch between holes that are 3/4 inch in diameter. Most likely your new 2020 Ram 2500 has a 2-1/2 inch hitch size so you'd need a shank like the part # EQ90-02-4900 which can provide up to 6 inches of drop which based on the dimensions you mentioned would be adequate.
