Will 2014 Ford Explorer Without Tow Package Have Socket To Install 7-way Trailer Connector
Question:
I am buying a 2014 XLT 4WD Explorer without any tow hitch. Will it still have the connection for the C56278?

Even though it doesn't have the tow package, the 2014 Ford Explorer will still have the rectangular connector located under the vehicle behind the passenger side rear wheel as shown in the linked install video for the Curt # C56278. On some vehicles, there are two identical connectors. If this is the case, use the black, not the gray connector.
You'll also need the # PK12711U bracket as well as the # 18136 if the hitch you use doesn't have the mounting stand-off.
Speaking of hitch, I'd also recommend the # 76034 which does feature a stand-off for the # PK12711U.
I'll also link to an installation video for the hitch I recommended.
