Replacement Idler Hubs for 2500 lb Axle With 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern

Question:

I would like a trailer hub bearing kit as a spare when travelling for my 5x8 utility trailer with a 2500lb single axle, no brakes with a 5 x 4 1/2 wheel. Can you provide me with the kits you sell that will fit my hub? Thanks

The 2500 lb axle uses a straight spindle which is compatible with either the L44649 or L44643 inner and outer bearings. Your existing bearings will have the reference number etched into the side of the bearing cage for easy identification. We have one 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern option for each bearing set.

If you have the L44649 bearings, use the Timbren # TA88545-2 which are sold in pairs only.

If you have the L44643 bearings, use the CE Smith # CE13210 which is avilable individually.

Either hub includes the bearings, races, grease seal, dust cover and lug nuts. The CE Smith hub comes pre-packed with grease and includes a carrying case which would make it ideal as a spare.

The Dexter # 34822545BX you'd looked at would fit if you had the L44643 bearings, but it only hjas a 2000 lb capacity, so I wouldn't recommend going that route.
