Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2021 Subaru Forester
Question:
Hello. I have a 2021 Subaru Forester. I just read Kyle S reply to a trailer hitch question. He said if mmostly using hitch for bike racks instead of towing the ecohitch is best. I like the hidden feature of the ecohitch. But why is it a better choice for bike rack ? Also is removingreinstalling the bumper fascia really not gonna damage my wifes new Subaru ?

The reason the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7391 you were looking at for you wife's new 2021 Subaru Forester was recommended for a bike rack is due to it have the most ground clearance out of all of the 2" trailer hitch receivers offered for your vehicle.
I agree, I also really like the hidden crosstube feature of the # 306-X7391 which is why I recommend it for your Subaru. Since the # 306-X7391 has a maximum tongue weight rating of 525lbs and a maximum trailer weight rating of 3500lbs it is a great option for light duty towing or carrying a bike rack like the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. You will want to check the owner's manual for your Subaru to confirm the towing capacity of your vehicle, and use the lower rating between the vehicle and the trailer hitch receiver.
You can absolutely remove and reinstall the rear bumper fascia without damaging it by taking your time, but if it is something you do not feel comfortable doing you can also have a reputable automotive repair shop complete the installation for you.
If you are concerned about having to remove the bumper fascia you could go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III # C13409 which bolts to the frame without having to remove the bumper, but it will have the crosstube visible.
If you can tell me what you plan on using your trailer hitch receiver for I would be happy to recommend the best products for your application.
I included installation videos for all of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
