Availability of Hitch For 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE To Carry Thule Parkway 2 Bike Rack

Is there a trailor hitch to be installed under a Passet 2012 SE to hook up a Thule Parkway 2 bike hitch.

All of the trailer hitches to fit your 2012 Volkswagen Passat SE are a Class I 1-1/4-inch hitch. The Thule Parkway bike rack is designed to fit in only Class III 2-inch hitches. So the Thule bike rack will not directly fit into the 1-1/4 inch hitch.
You could use a hitch adapter like the Brophy 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Hitch Adapter, part # HTAD, but it does reduce the tongue weight capacity of your Class I hitch by 50 percent, which would make the new tongue weight capacity at 100 lbs. That would mean if you subtracted the weight of the Thule bike rack (34 lbs) from the 100 lbs it would leave you with a total weight capacity on your hitch of 66 lbs for two bikes. If you are using smaller bikes you might not have a problem with that setup.
If you are still needing a hitch for your Passat I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch, part # 24880. This hitch has a gross towing weight capacity of 2000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. It is less expensive because it does not include a ball mount, which you do not need if you are using the hitch to carry a bike rack.
