According to the owner's manual, 1.5L gas and 1.6L Diesel engine and 1.6L Diesel AWD models can be successfully flat towed.
I'd recommend beginning with a Blue Ox base plate, part # BX1730 which is compatible with your tow bar if the # BX88297 adapter is used. You'll also want safety cables like # RM-643 if you don't already have them.
To join the motorhome's taillight wiring to that of the Equinox, I'd recommend the Roadamaster Diode kit, part # RM-152-98146-7. For a supplemental braking system, the # HM39530 Brake Buddy Stealth would work well.
When the base plate is installed, it'll sit about 16 inches above the pavement, assuming you're at factory ride height using the stock tire size. If this is more than 3 inches higher or lower than the receiver height of the motorhome, you'll need a high/low adapter to bring the receiver height into that range. I'll link you to our selection of high/low adapters and an article explaining how to choose the correct adapter if one is needed.
