Installing Tekonsha P3 90195 on 2012 Chevy Suburban
Question:
I have a Tekonsha P3 brake controller and want to use the same unit for a 2nd tow vehicle. It seems this product is a great ion to move from vehicle to vehicle as needed. However, my suburban may have a different connection for the wiring harness p3 to under dash. Which wiring harness adapter do I need for a 2012 Chevy suburban? What is the item number?

The 2012 Chevy Suburban didn't have a plug under the dash for a brake controller installation, it has a bundle of loose wires under the dash above the emergency brake pedal assembly, as shown in the provided photo. The pigtail from your # 90195 P3 brake controller would wire directly to the tow package wiring.
The wire bundle usually has a white tag on it, and would wire to the # 20127 brake controller pigtail as follows:
• Red tow package wire connects to Black pigtail wire.
• Dark Blue tow package wire connects to Blue pigtail wire
• Light Blue OR Orange tow package wire attaches to Red pigtail wire
• White tow package wire attaches to White pigtail wire.
If you don't have the # 20127 pigtail harness, you'll want to pick one up. You'll also need a replacement mounting bracket, part # TK5906. I'll link you to a help article and an install video which will explain how to complete the installation.
