Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost Towing Large Trailer

Question:

We have a 2018 f150 3.5L eco boost with tow package. We had a 31 ft 6600lb TT we towed with no problem. Can we tow our new 37ft TT thats 7500lbs with this truck? What can we add beside a good equalizer stabilizing hitch to decrease sway? Airbags?? Thanks

It looks like the 2018 Ford F-150 with 3.5L Ecoboost has a 13000-lbs towing capacity, so you shouldn't have any issues towing a 7500-lbs trailer. I do recommend confirming this capacity in your vehicle's owners manual.

I recommend adding the RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-Y which will do a great job of helping beef up your existing suspension system. The RoadActive system helps level out your vehicle when towing loads are attached and will also do a great job of helping fight sway. Air bag systems require a bit more maintenance and really aren't an optimal choice unless you're going to add an on-board air compressor system.

If you want to go the air bag route, the AirLift # AL88385 would be a good choice to provide you with a durable air bag system for your 2018 F-150. I recommend pairing those with the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Remote - Bluetooth - EZ Mount # AL74000EZ, which is compressor system that is remote controlled so it's super convenient to use and you'll always have air on hand to keep them filled; it certainly beats having to stop at the gas station every time you need them filled.

I've linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to have a look at. Pairing either of these with the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # RP66084 would be a great way to help keep your trailer from swaying during travel.
