What's going on, everybody. Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat RackDock. This is gonna be for your garage to help get those cargo carriers and four bike racks up and off the ground to get your floor of your garage nice and clean. Just to give it a lot more clean look. And give you a lot more space.
These come in two different colors. We're gonna have orange up top, and then we're gonna have black down bottom. They're all gonna be made of aluminum. So they're not gonna rust away over time. And it's really nice for both of your two inch, and inch and a quarter accessories.
It's only gonna stick out about five inches from the wall, and it's gonna have a height of about six and a half inches. It's a fairly easy installation. It gives you everything that you need to 1. Mount it up and 2. Be able to convert it from a two to an inch and a quarter.
Little hole here to take care of your accessories. So let's go over that installation process with you now. First thing you want to do is locate your studs. Luckily for us, we don't have to take out a stud finder. We know exactly where our studs are.
So that's step one. Second step, what we're gonna do is you're gonna press down on the top here. It's magnetic. And you're gonna go ahead and take this off. You can set that to the side for now, and that's gonna expose our two little spots for our lag screws. So, the nice thing about this is you don't have to worry about getting a bit, It comes with the kit, which is awesome. So we're gonna take our first one. We're gonna go through the top here, and we're gonna get it secured to that stud. I'm gonna go ahead and put it a little bit off the ground to where I'm still gonna have plenty of room to store underneath of it. Just like this, fits right in. All right. So now that that's done, it's a good time to get out a level. Make sure it's nice and straight. I'm gonna use this line as a level. And that looks pretty good. So now take our second one. We're gonna do the same exact thing. Since it's lined up we're gonna be hitting that stud explicitly. If we're nice and straight. Nice and solid, take our little plate and put it back. And we are done. For our two inch accessories, we are ready to rip. You can just go ahead and put it right in the little slot. Should fit nice and snug, and put it up all the way to the wall. It's gonna be great for bike racks like these but also for some of those cargo carriers that you may have. Just make sure that we don't go over a hundred pounds, as that is gonna be the capacity of this little holder. If you have a lighter cargo carrier like this that doesn't really fold up. It's still gonna take up a decent amount of space. But since we're really, really low on weight, this is only about 20 pounds. You can use it as storage. But just make sure you don't go over 100 pounds. This is gonna be extremely light stuff. Maybe just like these extension cords that I have. Maybe something else, but definitely some lighter duty stuff for this kind of cargo carrier. But if you do have a steel cargo carrier that's a little bit larger that actually folds up. I wouldn't recommend using it as a shelf. But when it folds up, it's not gonna take up much room at all. For an inch and a quarter accessories we're gonna get a little adapter just like this. So if your bike rack doesn't have one this one comes with it. And it comes with a little Allen key and a little bolt. One little hole is gonna be threaded on the end here. And that's gonna be towards the front end. So all we got to do is just kind of slide it in just like that. And then on the right side, you can go ahead and screw that into place, and it's ready to accept your inch and a quarter accessories. And that'll do it for our look at the Kuat RackDock..

Keep your garage floor free of clutter by storing your bike rack on this wall-mounted docking station. Accommodates most hitch-mounted racks and accessories with a 1-1/4" or 2" shank. Installation hardware included. The Küat RackDock took literally minutes to install. I had already installed extra 2x4s so it would be centered between 2 windows. Very sturdy. Could not be happier. I'd recommend.
It is great. It is heavy duty. And keeps the kuat rack off of the garage floor and out of the way. We love it.
What a creative idea! Store your hitch-mount bike rack right on your garage wall where it's safely out of the way. Really well designed and of excellent construction, though expensive. Comes with heavy-duty mounting screws, but note that this is NOT designed for anything other than wood stud or post construction! This should work for any 2" or 1 1/2" hitch-mount rack, though I'm using it with a Kuat NV 2.0 Base rack.
Convenient, sturdy allows for compact and quick storage. Reduces tripping Hazzard in storage area. Requires bolting to studs. Needed to add additional blocking around the holders to add lateral support to eliminate side to side wobble (earthquakes in CA). Great addition to the Kuatt rack system.
Works great to hold my bike rack all winter. Wish it was rated for slightly higher weight so that I could also keep the 2 bike extension attached (4 total), but I do have a particularly heavy rack
Great! Quick and easy storage. Have it installed at the rear of the garage. I always back my vehicle in, so the Rack Dock is convenient. No hassle. Just take my rack from the dock, turn around and mount it on the vehicle. Keeps my bike rack stored out of the way, but right were I need it.
This is a great addition for your Kuat rack. It is easy to install with the included hardware. The weight of the rack requires that you install it into a stud. I added a 4x4 that was secured into the framing of my garage as it has open walls and this worked well. Be aware that the inside of the receiver is sharp when doing the installation so avoid grabbing it from the center opening.
Finally a solution to securely store the rack!
