What Type of Hitch Extension do you Rewcommend for my 2006 Silverado 2500HD with an In Bed Camper

Question:

Hi, need some help with hitch extensions. I drive a 2006 Chevy 6.5 2500HD with an 860 truck camper and Torklift camper tie downs. Im purchasing a boat that weighs less than 2500 lbs normally but hunting trips could put the weight at no more than 4500 lbs. Boat trailer is currently single axle, but may look at upgrading to a dual. Trying to decide if the $800 extra to go with Torklift is worth it over the Curt. Would I be fine upgrading to a Curt Class V 2.5 hitch and the 24-34 extension or do I need to go with the Torklift Magnum and Super Truss extension? Would the rear Torklift camper tie downs I already have still work or would I have to buy the Torklift and new rear torklift tie downs? Thank you for any help,

For those kinds of weights I really think it would be in your best interest to go with the Torklift setup. I wouldn't want a failure to occur especially when going on a hunting or fishing trip!

For your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver part # TLC1205 is a confirmed fit and it will not interfere with your current camper hold downs.

For an extension the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers part # TLE1536 will get your ball further back from the camper like what you ewill need.
