Recommended SAE Wired 7 way Trailer Plug
Question:
Looking at Item # HM20048. The 7 way end on 11 foot cord is what I want, but instead of wired for RV where tail and running lights are green, I want those to be brown. Do you have that on 11 ft cord? Or can I disassemble the end on HM20048 and rewire to traditional 7 way? Thanks

You can wire the Hopkins 7 Way Molded Trailer Plug # HM20048 in whichever manner you see fit- the colored wires in the loom are color coded to make it easy for you to know which pin/blade they're connected to, so you shouldn't need to disassemble but just connect the wires from your trailer circuits to whichever color wire corresponds to the pin you want. You shouldn't need to cut anything or disassemble the cord as much as just change which wires you connect to which circuit.
If you're looking for an SAE plug, the Hopkins 7-Way Blade-Style Connector w/ Molded Cable and LEDs - Trailer End - 6' - Auto Standard # HM20285 would be the way to go. It's not the 11 foot long cord that you were looking for, but the plug is wired and color coded in the manner you're looking for.
You could also just wire your own plug using the 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector - Trailer Side # A7WCB, which is just the plug. This would allow you to use your own wiring to wire everything in the way you wanted.
