Adapters for a 1-1/4 Bike Rack with a 2-1/2 Hitch Receiver
Question:
I have a 2and1/2 trailer hitch on my Silverado. Im wondering if there is an adapter that reduces it to 1and1/4that my bicycle rack requires.....or will I need to reduce it to 2 first, then reduce it again to 1and1/4 ? Thanks

There are two ways you can convert the 2-1/2" receiver on your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. We don't have a 2-1/2" to 1-1/4" adapter, so these are the only options.
The first way is less stable. It involves using two adapters: the Blue Ox 2-1/2" to 2" Reducer Sleeve, part # BX88187, and the Brophy 2" to 1-1/4" Reducer, part # HT02. I've linked to review videos for both of these so you can see how they work.
The second way is to still use the Blue Ox Sleeve, but use the bike rack's adapter for the 2" to 1-1/4" reduction. Many 1-1/4" bike racks come with an adapter for 2" receivers. If you let me know which bike rack you have, I may be able to find that rack's adapter for you. This way is more stable since the rack's adapter will not add any length to the receiver and, therefore, reduce the sway/play of the setup.
