2-1/2 Inch to 2 Inch Reducer Sleeve for a Cargo Carrier
Question:
Hello, We want to put a cargo carrier into a 2.5 hitch reciever. Are there any 2.5 Cargo Carriers? WIll a 2 go in with an adapter? If we you use an anti rattle pin will it take out all or any of the slop?

To attach a 2" cargo carrier to a 2-1/2" receiver you will need the Gen-Y Reducer Sleeve 2-1/2" to 2" item # 325-GH-007. This sleeve slides into your receiver to accept 2" accessories or ball mounts. It will not reduce your hitches capacity. You won't need a anti-rattle pin it's a tight fit.
Note: Ford OEM hitches have a tighter/different radius on their 2-1/2 inch receiver tubes. To accommodate the OEM Ford 2-1/2 inch hitch, the corners of a ball mount, shank or reducer sleeve may need to be sanded down to slide into the hitch. Do not remove any more material than necessary. Simply removing the paint or powder-coat is often sufficient.
