Recommendation For Preventing Rear Suspension Sag When Towing With 2020 Volkswagen Atlas W/ Tow PKG

Question:

Hi, we have a new 2021 VW Atlas V6 w tow package and a trailer brake installed. VW does not recommend using a weight distribution hitch - and we have a 20 foot Geo Pro that weighs about 3100 lbs empty - we towed it last summer with an older MDX and used a WDH and it was no problem. What set up do you recommend for the VW as we are worried about sag and excessive weight on the rear axel. Any advice you have would be appreciated. Thx

I do have an option to help prevent sag in your rear suspension when towing your trailer that does not include a weight distribution system for your 2021 Volkswagen Atlas.

The option I recommend is adding the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4175 which install inside of your rear coil springs and allow you to air them up with up to 35 PSI of air to help support your rear suspension when the weight of your trailer is attached and can be aired down to 5 PSI when not towing to keep a smooth ride. Suspension enhancement does not increase the capabilities of your vehicle, it will just help support the additional weight from towing and lead to a more comfortable and safe ride.

I included a video of the Firestone Coil-Rite # F4175 for you to take a look at.
