Availability of Swinging Hitch Adapter for Thule Vertex Bike Rack

Hi, I have a thule vertex 4 bike rack on a 2inch curt hitch. I am planning to buy thule access swing away. Will they be compatible? Thanks!

If your Thule Vertex has a shank compatible with a 2 inch receiver only (not a 1-1/4 inch shank with the adapter sleeve) then yes, the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Extender # Y02483 would work.

Unfortunately, Thule (nor any of our other vendors) offer a swinging adapter that's compatible with a 1-1/4 inch shank or a 1-1/4 inch shank with an adapter sleeve.

As long as you stay under the weight capacity of the Saris Swing Away Hitch Extender part #SAR36VR which is 250 lbs you can use it with the Thule EasyFold XT E-Bike Rack part #TH903202. It would not affect capacity of the bike rack.

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright portion of the Saris swinging hitch adapter #SAR36VR the measurement is 9 inches so this would easily clear past your spare since it is 7-3/4 inches out past the rear hitch pin.
