Does Kuat Transfer Bike Rack Have Weight Capacity for 50 lb E-Bikes
Question:
I have the kuat transfer 2 rack and I would like to purchase an ebike which weighs a little over 50 pounds. Im aware that the limit is 40 on each. Would that be pushing it and possibly cause the bike rack to bend due to the weight?

Expert Reply:
If you exceed the weight capacity of the Kuat Transfer bike rack part # KU84FR that you referenced it is very likely you will damage the bike rack so we cannot safely recommend you do so. You'd need to go with an e-bike rack with higher weight capacities like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which is very easy to use and comes with a ramp to make loading and unloading bikes easier as well.
I attached a review video for more info on this as well.
