Weight Distribution for 2020 Ford F-150 Towing Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 2020 Ford F-150 6.5foot bed 4x4 with the 3.5 V-6 Ecoboost and Max towing package and am looking to tow a boat and trailer including fuel, gear, etc. weighing around 10,000-11,000 lbs with everything considered and being somewhat heavy on assumed gear weight. Based on the Ford Towing Guide, the towing capacity is 12,700 lbs. for a truck with my configuration using a weight distributing hitch WDH. Ive also checked the capacity based on the trucks GCWR and there is sufficient capacity if a WDH is used. I should also be within the recommended tongue weight. What WDH would be recommended? I have been looking at an aluminum Load Rite trailer LR-AB28T10000102TB2 and just discovered on their website that they do not advocateinch the usage of weight distributing hitches on their trailers, both due to concerns with surge brakes and overstressing the tongue. This is concerning - should I be looking at different trailer options? Any trailer manufacturers that you could recommend?

In general aluminum boat trailers and weight distribution system just don't mix. You'll have to go with a trailer that has a steel frame otherwise you'll find you can't use a WD system.

The Pole Tongue Adapter part # RP58393 that you referenced will be needed since boat trailers have pole tongues. Then for a weight distribution system the part # RP66560 would be a great choice that is perfect for the towing capacity of your truck and the weights you mentioned plus has sway control built into it.
