Recommended Weight Distribution And Adapter For Trailer With Long Pole Tongue

Question:

I am looking for a 10,000lb. Weight Distribution hitch specifically for a 7200lb. capacity boat trailer with surge brake and a long tongue pole. I see all your hitches are for short pole trailers. Do I have to buy the hitch as is and then buy an adaptor or do you have one that comes with the adaptor. Also the people at Venture trailers say they do not recommend using a weight distribution hitch saying they interfere with the surge brakes. What say you? I am confused.

We have just what you need for your trailer with a pole tongue.

I recommend a weight distribution system like the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System, part # RP66559. This system has a 10,000 lb capacity and is designed for tongue weight between 500 and 1,000 lbs, and is surge brake compatible.

I also recommend the Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter for Weight Distribution Systems, part # RP58393. This mounts about 29 inches rearward on the tongue from the hitch ball and provides a way to connect the weight distribution system on your trailer. This will work great with the # RP66559 system I recommended.

You will want to check with the trailer manufacturer to make sure a weight distribution system can be used with your boat trailer.
