Sumo Springs Versus Shocks for Toy Hauler
Question:
We have a 2013 Raptor 377SE. We usually haul our Kawasaki Mule Pro FXT in the garage when we go places. We have tried nearly everything in terms of tie downs to try and keep from things coming loose. So, the next logical step is to reduce the shockwave sent to the cargo from the current suspension. I see that there are 2 options to pick from, either a shock absorber kit or the sumo springs. So, knowing that the main goal is to reduce the shockwave, what would be the best option for our trailer? the sumo spring or the shock kit?

Expert Reply:
Because they are maintenance free, less expensive and easier to install than shocks, I'd definitely recommend going with the SumoSpring option. They'll work with your existing leaf spring suspension to help dampen the suspension, but will also reduce sway and body roll during turns. For a tandem axle application, you'll need two sets of the # TSS-107-40 which are compatible with 3000-5000 lb capacity axles.
As a bonus, the SumoSprings are also especially effective against porpoising, the front to rear undulation you experience during highway driving. The long rear overhang on a toy hauler can really exacerbate the problem.
