How Much Space is Needed Between Tires on Trailer When Upgrading from ST205/75R15 to ST235/75R15

Question:

I recently had my enclosed trailer axle flipped. Looking to replace the 205/75r15 with the Taskmaster off road tires. Plenty room between the fenders, my concern is I have 4 1/2” between the tires. Will these Taskmaster tires work for me

Helpful Expert Reply:

The recommended space between tires on a tandem or triple axle trailer is around 4". If you were to replace ST205/75R15 tires with ST235/75R15 like the Taskmaster Radial Off-Road Trailer Tire part # TA45RR then you'd lose around .9" overall between the tires. If you have 4.5" now that would bring you at or around 3.6" which I think is plenty for the trailer.

I have attached our full list of ST235/75R15 tires below as well.
