Replacement Disc Brakes for 2001 Ranger Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a single axle 2001 Ranger boat trailer, 5 lug pattern, cool oil bath hubs. Have a 2nd question. 2001 Ranger boat trailer, single axle with cool hubinch oil bath. Video indicates this will add apox 1/2inch to wheel thickness. Will this still clear the fiberglass fenders?

As long as your trailer has a 3500-lbs axle and a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you can use the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2R35D without any issues with your oil bath hubs. You'll want to make sure that your current tires have at least 1/2" of clearance from the tire to the front of the fender, but as long as you've got that, it'll be just fine.

You will need an actuator capable of handling disc brakes, so for that I recommend using the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi # HBA16, which is one of our most popular and well reviewed disc brake actuators. You'll also need to make sure that your brake controller in the vehicle is compatible with Electric Over Hydraulic disc brakes, like the Tekonsha P3 # 90195, which is one of our most popular controllers and provide you with proportional braking for your trailer.

If you've got a different bolt pattern on your hubs, or a different axle capacity, just let me know and I can help you get the appropriate parts.
